Dear RCSD Community,

The Rangers are out of action, and I am fairly sure my beloved Mets won’t be making the postseason, but our girls varsity lacrosse team is in the state championships after winning 14-10 over Fulton at SUNY Cortland this morning! They take on Sayville tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m., also at SUNY Cortland. GO GARNETS!

Dear RCSD Community,

Welcome to June, that month-long fast and furious whirl of final exams and projects, field days, moving up ceremonies, and end-of-year celebrations. As a reminder, the High School, Middle School, and Elementary School end-of-year calendars are all posted on the homepage of the District website at the bottom in the “News & Updates” section to help you keep track of it all.

Dear RCSD Community,

I am fairly sure that most of you are a bit tired of hearing from me after the barrage of voting reminders earlier this week, so I will keep it brief! Thank you to the many of you who turned out to vote in the annual budget vote and Board of Education election.  It’s a testament to the community’s commitment to high quality public education in Rye that we received an almost 72% percent “yes” vote. We will continue to be good fiscal stewards of your investment; it is our expectation that we will not need to come back to the community for a tax cap override for the foreseeable future. Thank you for your continued support of our schools!

Dear RCSD Community,

Please, please mark your calendars to come out and vote this Tuesday in the 2024-2025 school district budget and Board of Education election. We need everyone to come out and vote on Tuesday. In Rye, this is traditionally a very low voter turnout event - every vote truly does count! Please grab a friend or a child or several (free civics lesson) and head to the polls! They are open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the RMS Gym.

The RCSD 2024-2025 budget maintains all programs and updates curriculum without adding any new teachers or staff.  We have three candidates running for three seats on the Board of Education, making this an uncontested election. The candidates are Callie Erickson, Valerie Lapham, and Matthew (Matt) Schibanoff. Callie is currently serving her second term on the Board of Education; Valerie and Matt are current Midland School parents.
